César Vallejo (1892-1938) was a Peruvian poet who settled in Paris in 1923. Although he published only two books of poetry during his lifetime (The Black Heralds, 1919, and Trilce, 1922), he is considered one of the great poetic innovators of the 20th century in any language.

Michael Lee Rattigan has lived and taught in Mexico and Spain, and translated the complete collection of Fernando Pessoa’s Alberto Caeiro poems (Rufus books, 2007). More translations have appeared in The Los Angeles ReviewAsymptote Magazine, and The Fiend Journal. His poetry collection Liminal will be published in 2012 (Rufus books). Michael Lee Rattigan est poète et traducteur de l’espagnol et du portugais. Dernière parution, son recueil Liminal (Rufus books, 2012).
